Toyoma Koi from its inception twenty five years ago, has had one simple objective: To import the finest quality Koi from Japan period. This means bringing the highest grade Koi from the best breeders in the world, specifically Japan, that can be purchased in the US and Europe to reasonable prices.
All our fish are vet certified, treated and quarantined at least two weeks in our Japanese facility and again in the US before shipping to customers. At every level we strive to provide the best fish for less money. Whether they are 4 to 6 inch tosai (one year old) the smallest Koi we carry, or the 4 to 5 year old 32 inch Mature Jumbos we sell to collectors to compete on the show circuit.

Our tosai are raised and culled up to 4 times before we purchase them. Other brokers and dealers buy available stock on demand when they are 3 and 4 inches. We at Toyoma take pride in supplying retail customers with a greater variety of various types of tosai. As many as 27 different varieties of shipment of a hundred or more unlike our competitors that fill in with many Ogons and other common single colored fish. Our customers tell us over and over again, they can match our price but not our quality or variety.

We hand select all our fish. Why? Because we care and because itis the only way we can assure that we like you get what you pay for. This includes the Jumbo 7 to 9" Tosai and all our Nisai (two year) Sansai (three year) and Yonsai (four year) as well as many of our 4 to 6" Tosai. It is our policy that we do not import Koi older than four years because of the obvious different water conditions which older fish find very difficult to adjust to.  This is one of the reasons the mortality rate among our Koi are low especially among the show fish which we supply around the world.
